As the founder, former CEO, and chairman of BillPayers, Inc., Dr. Jones brings a tremendous amount of experience and expertise to the study of business and leadership. He was a Navy fighter pilot and a commercial helicopter pilot flying in some of the most remote regions on earth for firms engaged in the petroleum industry.  Currently in the process of publishing a leadership textbook, Dr. Jones is also actively contributing to journals such as the Harvard Business Review and presenting his research findings at conferences around the United States. Prior to coming to PIU, he was the dean of two schools of business and created the business program at Greensboro College. Dr. Jones is active in his community as a Presbyterian elder and a member of the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Prison Ministries. He is also actively involved in Kiwanis and Rotary as well as the United Way and The Salvation Army. 

Description

This course will provide an overview of how to design and manage compensation systems. The concept of the Pay Model will be introduced, showing how to develop an organization’s strategy related to formulating and implementing a pay system. Students learn how to apply compensation principles to organizational objectives and strategically use compensation systems to attract, motivate and retain employees.
