I grew up in a Christian home and accepted Christ as my Savior at the age of seven.  I also had the privilege of attending a Christian school throughout my educational experience.

During my senior year in high school, I rededicated my life to Christ and felt God’s call to attend Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC.  As a freshman in college, I felt God wanted me to be an attorney and entered the pre-law track. During the spring of my first year, I felt and accepted God’s call to full-time Christian service.  At the time, I had a peace about teaching and coaching in a Christian school, so I changed my major to Education.

Following graduation, I married my high school sweetheart, who had also attended BJU and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. I taught for a couple of years in the middle and secondary grades, but didn’t have a peace that God wanted me to work with this age group.  In the meantime, I had become heavily involved in the children’s ministry at my church in a lay role, and in 1994 I accepted a position as Children's Pastor at Triad Baptist Church.  That is where God has me ministering to this day, having the opportunity to minister to hundreds of children each week and lead a team of children’s ministry leaders, as well.  I am grateful for the opportunity to serve in such an exciting and fulfilling way!

In 2002, God called me to graduate school to pursue a Master's in Children's Ministry, which I received in 2006.  It was a wonderful start to an exciting journey, and I look forward to "sharing the road" with other young people who have a passion to minister to children, as well!

My wife, Kim, and I, live in Kernersville, NC and have three children: our oldest, Meagan and her husband live in Walkertown, NC;  Tyler and our daughter-in-law live in Kernersville, and Maddie, our youngest, is in dental hygeine and will be married in December.

In December of 2015, we also had the blessing of our first grandchild, Jackson Ray.  In December of 2019, his brother, Maverick Brandt, came along.  Grand parenting has been a true blessing!
