Description

This course provides an overview of the intersections between race and class and the American criminal
justice system. It seeks to expose students to the reasons as to why racial minorities and those from
low socio-economic communities are disproportionately represented in prisons, and policy responses
thereto. Students will also gain awareness about the racialized impacts of law enforcement practices
and particular criminal laws.
