  • Week 1 [unit]

This class serves to finalize the CJ420 paper. It was agreed upon that you will complete the final three weeks that were not finished during the Spring semester. I have some deadlines set along the way to help ensure the student stays on track.

The 4 assignments expected to be completed over the five weeks are:

    1. Resummarize Topic/Annotated Bibliography
    2. Literature Review
    3. Findings Section
    4. Final Draft

It is paramount that the student stays on track with deadlines and gets things submitted on time. I will not be able to accommodate late work. If the student expects any deadlines to be an issue, she is required to get in contact with me during the first three days of class so we can find an alternative by the end of the first week.

To ensure the student does not miss deadlines, I will not accept assignments past the due dates. This means, she will have to operate without feedback before moving ahead with future portions of the paper. Furthermore, the student will earn a zero for those parts of the paper not turned in on time.  Importantly, because the final grade is based only upon four assignments, the weight of those assignments makes up a large portion of the student's overall grade. This information is also on the syllabus. By staying enrolled in the class, the student agrees to adhere to these guidelines.

The student is expected to watch all Zoom lectures uploaded to the portal (located under resources > bookmarks). These Zoom lectures are recordings from the Spring semester, meaning the housekeeping, assignment due dates, and assignments themselves will not always be applicable. The student should prioritize the eLearning calendar and the course schedule attached to the syllabus. Similarly, the student *does not* have to complete any other assignments than the four discussed (1. Summary of Topic and Annotated Bibliography, 2. Literature Review, 3. Findings Section, 4. Final Draft). In the Zoom lectures, the student should prioritize watching the content and how to do things, the paper-writing processes, and other similar lecture facets, etc. Again, by staying enrolled in the class, the student agrees to follow these directions and adhere to these guidelines.

As always, the student should contact me as problems come up and as support is needed.

By June 18th, student turns in topic summary and annotated bibliography. Revisions are expected from the feedback given during the Spring semester during the first attempt at the class. Any edits or changes made should be highlighted or bolded on the word document to emphasize where the student revised their work.
