Brief Bio: Hello all! I am Dr. Murchtricia Jones. The Director of Data Science and Chair of the School of Computing, Applied Sciences, and Engineering. I am so excited to be a part of your educational journey. 

I am a wife and mother of two. I am from St. Croix, USVI, a beautiful Caribbean island. I can be bribed with high-quality chocolate, oxtails, and jollof rice. Haha! 

Description

The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to the UNIX Operating System and to UNIX software development. Many servers and other applications are hosted on UNIX machines, so the student will frequently find themselves working on or using UNIX machines once they enter the workforce. This course is not a course on UNIX system administration; however, basic system administration and security will be introduced. The focal
point of this course will be UNIX software development.
