Dr. Kelsey Koontz is a North Carolina native who has taught elementary students in the Triad and eastern part. She lives with her husband, Jake, and daughter, Lillian (1). She loves to escape to the beach and fish offshore with her dad.  Kelsey also enjoys stitching, embroidering, and making bread.

Description

This course is designed to equip future educators to plan instruction with measurable learning objectives that are aligned to curriculum standards, and to assess for student learning. Students will explore different instructional strategies and examine how best to implement them for student success, learn to use formative and summative assessment to monitor and evaluate student performance, and be prepared to select, create, and interpret assessments to drive instructional decisions. This course is a prerequisite for any course 304 and above.
