Hi, I’m Billie Dawn Lynn. I have worked as a Deaf interpreter in educational settings for over 10 years, and I’m passionate about sharing the richness of Deaf culture, language, and community. I have worked alongside many interpreters and interpreting students, providing mentorship and guidance for many years while also helping to train interpreters. I strive to create an interactive, student-centered classroom where learners feel encouraged to explore, reflect, and engage with new perspectives. My goal is to help students not only understand Deaf culture but also appreciate the diversity of experiences and identities within it.

I know I can be my own worst critic, but I strive to be a thoughtful, caring, and engaging professor. I aim to create a classroom where students feel supported, encouraged, and inspired to explore and share. Even when I see areas for growth, I remind myself that my efforts are meaningful and that I am making a positive impact on my students’ learning and experiences.
